Next week I will be attending the New York Comic Con in Manhattan and I couldn’t be more excited! This is my first big Comic Con where I will be exhibiting in the Artist Alley and the second “huge” convention I’ve ever attended. I feel extremely fortunate to have this opportunity to show my stuff. If you’re attending the show next weekend (Oct. 10th – 13th) be sure to stop by booth R5 in the Artist Alley section and say hello to Dana and I!
My life has been pretty crazy the last few months bouncing between living spaces and trying to figure out how to make everything work. I just started my own business (Erik Reichenbach Comics LLC) and am close to making a real living as a working artist. I’m typically a more reserved and defensive person when it comes to my finances and job security, but lately I’ve been just diving in head first and taking risks to get to where I want to be; the biggest risk so far signing up for a few Comic Cons! (I will be at Detroit Fan Fare later this month as well). It’s tough, its stressful, but all the hard work is starting to really pay off. People are finally starting to realize Erik Reichenbach isn’t just some kid from Survivor, but also a working comic illustrator.
I will be doing a lot while I’m there,.. drawing caricatures, selling posters and prints, and autographing comic books as well! I’m really looking forward to it all.
