I am really glad I had a chance to visit Africa and can’t wait to return in a few more months. The plane tickets are a little pricey and it takes a long time to fly there but it’s all worth it once your on the other side.
For the last few months I have been trying to adjust to the fact that I am single once again and can have plenty of fun on my own. Breaking up really did a number on me, I must admit. I guess that search led me to another country that I never would have known originally; and for that I am extremely thankful. I guess that whole, “God slams a door but cracks a window” or whatever it is statement about serendipitous opportunity is kind of true.
I don’t know what else to say about visiting Africa except I want more. I honestly see myself living in Cape Town at some point in the future; finding a decent job and a nice space to live and living it out there for a while. I’m 25 years old and have a world of opportunity out in front of me. I just need to regain my confidence and go do whatever the hell I want to do with my life. I have seen too many people who are tied down to pointless endevours or ideological stagnation to fall asleep somewhere. Time is an invaluable resource, and after seeing how much more bang for the buck I got out of my time spent in Cape Town I would be foolish to let that go.
I’m young now, I have a little bit of money now. Why not use it and have a great life? The picture above is looking over Cape Point at the edge of Africa. Look at that picture! On the bottom right it is literally a rocky cliff to a watery death below. That’s awesome!
I can’t believe I have come so far from working in an icecream shop in a town of 72 people only five years ago. In five years I have met some extraordinary people and personalities, fallen in love, been scared to death, earned more money then I have ever made in my life, and gained the ability to visit places in the world I had never even heard of before! To me that is a testament to my own ability and the possibility of change in anyone’s life.
Adventure is out there, and I am amazed at how much closer it is to the people who really want to reach out and take it.

Hey Erik, great photograph and great post. I can really relate to a lot of what you had to say. I too have decided that there is nothing better than just leaving and going all over the world to wherever I want in oder to experience a new place and a new culture. I’ve always wanted to go to South Africa, but havn’t had the chance yet. Your picture looks beautiful and I love places like that. I’m heading to Iceland in a couple weeks, the sole reason being I’ve never heard of anyone wanting to go to Iceland. I asked some people if they’d like to come and they just looked at me funny, “why on earth would you want to go there?” they’d say. But who cares, at least the two of us know what it’s all about, right? Mines well do it now and experience the world now while we can. Thanks for sharing your post.

The pictures looks as beautiful as Indian to me. Traveling is so amazing, that I find it hard to explain what drives me wild about, an obession, that does not stop or die.
This is my life misson.” The purpose of life. To life live, to taste experience to the utmost. To reach out eagerly and with out fear for a new and richer experience.”
Good Luck in all your future travels. “Nothing happens and nothing happens, then, everything happens.”
